Limassol-based enterprises appear optimistic in their outlook for the near future, as per the findings of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry Business Barometer / Autumn 2017.
The latest is the third edition of the biannual Barometer, a project that got under way in the autumn of 2016 and continued in spring 2017. There has been increased company participation which shows the member companies’ interest in the entire procedure.
The barometer findings - which include companies from various sectors of the economy, such as commerce, industry, services and tourism – show the following positive outcomes:
• 60.2% will employ new staff
• 68.7% are fairly or very satisfied with the return on their investments
• 61.2% will proceed with new investments.
When it comes to the main issues facing the companies in Limassol, one can single out the shortages of skilled labour, unsatisfactory cooperation with government departments and labour costs.
