In a bid to connect with Limassol’s industrial sector and advance solutions to pressing business concerns, the Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, Mr. George Papanastasiou, recently visited Limassol following an invitation by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
During his visit, the Minister toured various industrial units in Limassol, receiving first-hand briefings on their operations and the daily challenges they face, while observing the high level of development and technical expertise that characterises the city’s industrial sector. Issues such as energy, production costs, infrastructure upgrades, and the green transition were among the key topics raised by local industrialists.
The visit continued with an open discussion held at the LCCI premises, where members had the opportunity to submit proposals and engage in an in-depth dialogue on the issues affecting their operations, in a constructive and open environment. The exchange highlighted both the potential and prospects of the local economy, as well as the obstacles businesses need to overcome to maintain their competitiveness.
This meeting underscored the Ministry’s intention to maintain open lines of communication with the business community, recognising that Limassol’s industry and services sectors can significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth, provided that targeted policies and necessary state support are in place.
The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry reaffirmed its commitment to stand by its members, conveying the challenges and needs of the business community to the state in a well-documented manner, and actively contributing to the promotion of solutions that will support growth and innovation.
