The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) successfully organised an event on ‘Waste Management and the implementation of the Pay As You Throw (PAYT)’ scheme, primarily aimed at industrial facilities and manufacturing companies. The event was co-organised with the Association of Industrialists of Agios Athanasios (SY.VI.AA), the First Industrial Area of Limassol and Ypsonas.
During the event, presentations were delivered by Ms Ioanna Konstantinidou, Senior Environment Officer at the Department of Environment, Mr Kyriakos Xydias, Mayor of Amathounta, Mr Solonas Louka, Municipal Health Inspector of the Municipality of Kourion and Ms Skevi Paraskeva, Health Officer of the Municipality of Polemidia.
The presentations were followed by an open discussion with members of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants raised questions, exchanged views and discussed practical challenges related to the implementation of the ‘Pay As You Throw (PAYT)’ scheme and waste management more broadly. The discussion contributed to a constructive dialogue, providing businesses with valuable information and addressing practical issues of concern to the industrial sector.
