In 1946, the five Lefkaritis brothers, Nicos, Takis, Kallis, Kikis and Nakis, founded Lefkaritis Bros General Partnership, initially active in land-based transport and Lefkaritis Motors partnership, active in the import and trade of vehicles and spare parts. The two activities were merged in 1968, under the first registered limited liability company of Lefkaritis Group, named Lefkaritis Bros Ltd. The company, with its recognisable (trademark) green buses, went on to become the biggest land-based transport organisation in Cyprus and served Cypriot citizens across the island.
Over the years and under Lefkaritis Group umbrella, the activities of Lefkaritis Bros Ltd have expanded covering a wide range of economic sectors, such as land-based and maritime transport, trade, real estate and energy, as well as offering high-quality services and products. Lefkaritis Bros Ltd has one of the largest and best equipped fleets of trucks and tanker vehicles in Cyprus and in addition to petroleum products and lubricants transportation, it carries out general cargo transportation and offers vehicle fleet management services.
It is worth mentioning that for many years Lefkaritis Bros Ltd has been one of the most trustworthy shipping agents, mainly active in Larnaka district, serving both Lefkaritis Group ships as well as other third party tankers. Furthermore, Lefkaritis Bros Ltd is the exclusive importer and distributor of Bridgestone tires in Cyprus, representing the world’s biggest tire manufacturer. Over the past years Firestone and Dayton tires, which are also manufactured by Bridgestone, have been added to the range offered to the market. This is one of the longest running partnerships between a Cypriot company and a multinational giant, as it began in 1963 and continues very successfully today.
Lefkaritis Bros Ltd owns substantial immovable property which is utilised through own-use, for development and leasing and for investment and future sale purposes. At the same time, subsidiaries and affiliated companies of Lefkaritis Bros Ltd, are active in providing maritime transport through privately-owned tankers, insurance brokerage services, maintenance and support for petroleum products service stations, maintenance of liquefied gas cylinders and steel constructions and fabrication.
Affiliated companies are also active in the renewable energy industry though the sale and installation of photovoltaic systems, construction of photovoltaic parks, production of electricity through photovoltaics, as well as through the supply of electricity to the end consumer. For more than half a century, the Company has been supporting Cyprus’ economy and society through investments and business activities, which offer hundreds of job positions. Armed with the necessary expertise and experience, the company has been one of the most reliable partners in Cyprus in every sector it operates.
