A record of visits and exhibitors has taken place this year's Limassol Boat Show, which managed to upgrade the level of the respective events in the Eastern Mediterranean region. More than 120 exhibitors from Cyprus, Greece, Russia, Great Britain, Israel and Lebanon presented to the 25,000 visitors all the products and services offered by the yacht and marine equipment market.
This year's event was held from 3 to 6 May at Limassol’s Marina, with the organizers stressing that the extra day, which was added this year, managed to attract a larger number of visitors. "This year's Boat Show began on Thursday and it lasted for four days, instead of three day that lasted in previous years, which helped to the increase of the visitors" stressed in "Entrepreneurial Limassol" the commercial and marketing manager of Limassol Marina, Nikiforos Pampakas.
Moreover, he adds that both the organization and the quality of the visitors are being improved year after year: "The Limassol Boat Show is considered to be one of the best of its kind in the region, and has been embraced by the local community, demonstrating the connection and its particular relationship with the sea". Visitors had the opportunity to admire luxurious boats, attend seminars, new product presentations, activities and demonstrations.
Speaking during the inauguration on Thursday 3 May, Deputy Minister of Shipping Natasa Pilides pointed out that every citizen has the right to enjoy the sea and to enjoy it in any way, while taking care of it. Noting that security must be of paramount importance to sea lovers, Mrs. Pilides explained that the Deputy Ministry of Shipping gives great importance to the safety and protection of the users of the craft and the marine environment.
