The construction of the EOKA Medical and rehabilitation centre expansion is rapidly progressing, and aims to become a model center of rehabilitation. For the production of the additional building, Zemco Construction signed on February 22nd, agreeing to take on the project. The project is expected to be completed within the next 18 months before the end of 2019.
The expansion
The new rehabilitation unit includes the creation of another 32 beds, a modern physiotherapy center, a radiology center, a cardiology department, a microbiology lab, outpatient clinics and supportive venues. The cost of the project, including equipment, will amount to € 6 million. With the upgrading of its services, with robotic equipment and modern methods in the field of rehabilitation, Melathro will become a model center in its field without being deprived of the fact that it already has the unique unit in Cyprus. Also, in the field of research, it maintains partnerships with all the major universities in Cyprus and with rehabilitation centers abroad, with the aim of exchanging know-how and staff.
