Volunteering is gaining an increasingly central role in the
discussion on corporate responsibility and the relationship between businesses
and society. In this context, the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI),
in collaboration with the Limassol District Volunteer Coordinating Council,
organised on 19 November an event dedicated to the role of social contribution
in modern entrepreneurship.
During the event, speakers presented views and practices that
showcased how volunteering can enhance corporate culture, cultivate corporate
values, and create meaningful ties with the local community. Representatives of
Local Authorities, NGOs and businesses shared experiences and approaches
demonstrating that social responsibility is not merely an additional activity,
but an integral part of a modern organisation’s strategy.
The active participation of professionals and stakeholders
highlighted the potential that can emerge when the business community
collaborates with social partners in designing initiatives with a positive
social impact. At the same time, the presentations emphasised that adopting a
culture of volunteering can serve as a driver of social cohesion and
development.
The conclusions and ideas generated during the event provide
a solid basis for future initiatives in the field of corporate volunteering,
creating prospects for even closer cooperation between businesses and social
organisations.
