Under the patronage of the president of the Republic of
Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB) celebrated the grand
reopening of the Cyprus Branch in Limassol and its 15th anniversary
in Cyprus on Friday May 27, 2016. A reception was held at the newly relocated
branch followed by a gala dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel attended by Mr.
Harris Georgiades, the minister of Finance, representing the President, Mrs.
Chrystalla Georghadji, the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, Mr. Abdel
Karim Kabariti, Chairman of JKB’s Board of Directors, Mr. Faisal Al-Ayyar,
KIPCO’s Executive Vice Chairman, members of the Board of Directors and members
of the Bank’s executive management. Also in attendance were government
officials and dignitaries representing Jordan, Cyprus and Kuwait.
Mr. Kabariti spoke at the gala dinner and expressed his
gratitude and appreciation to the president of the Republic of Cyprus for
accepting the Bank’s invitation to hold the events under his honorable
patronage; demonstrating the good relations that Jordan and Cyprus enjoy. He
also paid tribute to Mr. Georgiades for delivering an impressive turn around in
the Cypriot economy during the recent years under the leadership of President
Anastasiades. Moreover, Mr. Kabariti thanked Mrs. Georghadji for the Central
Bank of Cyprus’ support of Jordan Kuwait Bank in Particular, praising CBC’s
tireless efforts in strengthening the resilience and flexibility of the Cypriot
economy and its financial sector.
Mr. Kabariti took this opportunity to also express his
gratitude to the Bank’s strategic partners – KIPCO, Jordan Social Security, and
Fairfax Financial Holdings for their continued support and attention to the
interests of Jordan Kuwait Bank and its stakeholders, the Bank’s management and
employees for their efforts and contributions towards achieving the Bank’s
goals and improving its performance year after year, and the Bank’s customers
for their ongoing trust in the Bank’s services.
Earlier in the day, and during the ribbon cutting
ceremony at the branch, Mr. Haethum Buttikhi, Head of Retail and Private
Banking and Director of Cyprus Branch, welcomed the honorable guests during the
reception stating that JKB Cyprus branch is committed to offering a range of
products and services to meet the customers’ foreign banking needs as well as
serve international companies with regards to their commercial and trade
relations.
