Issues of common interest were discussed during a recent meeting in Sofia between the Vice President/ International Relations of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry Heros Miltiadous and the Vice-President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Todor Tabakov. Also present at the meeting were the Mayor of Limassol Nicos Nicolaides and the Ambassador of Cyprus in Sofia Charalambos Kafkarides.
Mr. Miltiadous participated in a mission of the Limassol Municipality to the Bulgarian capital, during which, among other things, a visit was made to the Bulgarian Technology Park, known as Sofia Tech Park. There was a tour of the Park, which develops activities to support start-ups, other small and medium-sized enterprises and generally promotes science, education and innovation. The whole experience from Sofia Tech Park was particularly interesting and instructive, especially in light of the ongoing multi-year effort of the Limassol Chamber for the creation of the Technology Park in Pentakomo.
The participation of one of the Vice-Presidents of the LCCI in the mission to Sofia was part of the always close cooperation between the Municipality and the Chamber. Similar joint visits have been made in the past to cities such as Marseille and St. Petersburg.
