LCCI Digital Archive

The archival collection of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is a valuable source documenting its historical development and its contribution to the economic, business and social development of Limassol and Cyprus.

It consists primarily of photographs, as well as documents, reports, studies, publications and other archival materials that reflect the Chamber’s activities and evolution over time.

The archive is organised into thematic sections that highlight the most significant aspects of the Chamber’s history and activities, including its administrative development; initiatives and actions to promote trade, services, tourism and industry; its contribution to economic and social developments; its involvement in promoting infrastructure projects and other development initiatives in Limassol; as well as the organisation of events, conferences and other activities for its members.

The digitised archival material covers the period from the establishment of the LCCI in 1962 to the present day, documenting the Chamber’s history and activities over time and providing a comprehensive overview of its historical development and contribution to the development of entrepreneurship, the city and the wider Limassol district.

The digitisation of the archive aims to preserve and protect the original material, facilitate access for Chamber members, researchers and the wider public, and highlight its historical and cultural value.

At the same time, it makes a significant contribution to preserving the institutional memory of the LCCI, ensuring that its long-standing activities and contributions remain accessible to future generations.

The digitisation of the archival material, carried out over a period of more than one year, was undertaken entirely by the LCCI team. The team was responsible for the collection, organisation, digitisation, scanning, cataloguing and uploading of the material to the website, as well as for the design and development of the digital platform presenting the archive.

All of the archival material has been digitised; however, some documents, minutes and other records have not been uploaded to the website and remain part of the LCCI’s digital archive.
