The opening of the second H&M store in Cyprus, located in Limassol will happen in March. The new store of the large Swedish clothing chain will operate in the historic headquarters of the once all-powerful ESEL (Coop), at 117 Anexartisias Street. The store, with a total area of 1.940 sq.m. will extend to three levels of the building (basement, ground floor and mezzanine), which were leased by Η & Μ. As the CEO of the Limassol Agora, Panos Alexandrou, stated to "Entrepreneurial Limassol", the construction works will be completed in December, while interior design works will follow.
The whole project was supposed to be completed earlier but has been delayed by problems identified in the load-bearing structure of the building that needed static reinforcement, especially at the basement level, where seawater had penetrated. The additional work that needed to be done, Mr. Alexandrou pointed out, inevitably caused delays. The cost of the works amounted to €1.5 million.
Limassol Brown Hotel
According to Mr. Alexandrou, work will follow on the other floors of the building, which will house the Limassol Brown Hotel. The works will last 18 months, aiming at the operation of the hotel, until the middle of 2023. The design of the hotel - city, 125 rooms, is implemented by the group of companies Prosperity, in collaboration with the international hotel chain Brown. The plans envisage the creation of a boutique hotel with the addition of another floor, with a panoramic lounge bar and swimming pool on the roof garden.
