A new township is planned
to be created by two companies, in the area occupied until a few years ago by
the Limassol quarry and the Moni cement factory. Recently the C.C.C. Real Estate Company Ltd of the Galatariotis Group,
secured a permit for land separation and construction of an organized mixed
development, based on a complete master plan, in a coastal area of 1.05
million sq.m.
The project provides for the
construction of residential complexes and apartments, a medical and educational
centre, a hotel, a research and development centre and facilities for
commercial uses. The grand project is located in Urban Zone Ga5 and falls
within the boundaries of the communities of Moni and Pyrgos, while its
completion is expected to take up to 10 years.
YOO Limassol Resort
A large €50 million project
is planned in the same area by Sarels Ltd. The project will consist of seven
apartment buildings of 4-9 floors and 83 independent houses with swimming
pools. It will include six shops, spa and wellness centre, playground, sports
facilities, a small church, green areas, public and private pedestrian streets,
public access road to the plot, private roads (internal) and a biological
station. The proposed development will also include 320 public and private
parking spaces.
The project, according to
the study submitted to the Environment Department, will be divided into two
parts: the south (with an area of 62,268 sq.m.), where the independent houses
will be located, and the north (with an area of 29,265 sq.m.), with apartment
buildings. For each building included in the project, a separate urban planning
application has been submitted, so that separate urban planning permits can be
issued. Construction work is expected to begin with the issuance of the
relevant permits and last for four years.
