Various issues pertaining to entrepreneurship,
but also pending development projects in Limassol, at both city and district
level, were brought before the President of the Democratic Rally (DISY) Averof
Neofytou during his recent visit to the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (LCCI).
Mr. Neofytou, who was accompanied by the three
newly elected MPs of DISY in Limassol and other associates, met with members of
the LCCI Executive Committee, headed by President Andreas Tsouloftas, and
discussed the current economic situation in the country, including the effects
of the pandemic and the many problems that the business community has faced as
a result.
Mr. Tsouloftas referred, among other things, to
the findings of the Limassol Chamber Business Barometer, which, not for the
first time, highlight the assessment of companies that cooperation on the part
of government departments leaves much to be desired, and called for necessary
reforms to move towards a less bureaucratic and a more efficient public sector.
The LCCI President also raised before Mr.
Neofytou issues related to the development needs of Limassol, listing a number
of road and other projects that have remained stagnant and asked for them to
proceed. He further noted that although Limassol has made great leaps forward
in recent years, but these have been almost exclusively the result of
initiatives and the ingenuity of the private sector and there is justifiably
anticipation for all necessary public works as well.
