The Limassol Tourism Board, in cooperation
with a Google Trusted Photographer and with the use of Google tools, has
proceeded to digital representation of the coastal front. A virtual tour of 19
kilometers along the coastline is accessible worldwide through Google Street
View. Every user of Google Maps is able to virtually navigate the coastal road,
nearby sights, beaches, the old port, marinas, hotels and other businesses,
through 360⁰ images.
Also, 80 new 360⁰ images have been
published on Google Maps, including picturesque villages, archeological sites, town
squares and other points of interest in the Limassol district. At the same
time, significant changes/corrections were made on the map concerning points of
tourist interest.
According to Google, the Google Maps app is
used daily by one billion people to explore the world both before their trip
and during their visit to a destination. The Limassol Tourism Board, aiming to
enhance the digital presence of the Limassol Region, will continue to update
information, upgrade digital content and introduce new routes in the region,
providing locals and visitors with up-to-date information on this useful and
popular digital tool.
