Projects worth more than 10 million euros that will boost Limassol's economy are being promoted through the Ministry of Interior for 2021. According to the list submitted to the Parliament by Interior Minister Nikos Nouris, work will begin on the following projects in the new year:
-Beach pedestrian street - bike path of Germasogeia - Agios Athanasios 2 km long between Crowne Plaza and Miramare hotels at a cost of 3.5 million euros. Work will begin next July and be completed in two years. The Ministry of Interior has handed over the plans to the Municipality of Germasogeia in order to run the procedures and before Easter to make the offers.
-Renovation of the historic centre of Agia Phyla at a cost of 3 million euros. The start of the project was set for next April and its completion in April 2023.
-Construction of Anthoupolis connecting road with Nikais Avenue. Construction plans have been completed and an amount has been included in the 2021 budgets.
-Configuration of the main square and adjacent streets in Pelendri, at a cost of 1 million euros. It will start in May 2021 and be completed in June 2022.
-Finally, next March the 2nd phase of the regeneration of the traditional core in Apaisia village will begin, at a cost of 2 million euros and is expected to be completed in September 2022.
Nikos Nouris also submitted a list of projects that will start after 2021. These are the following projects:
2022
-Construction of the 2nd phase of the connection of Franklin Roosevelt Avenue with the beach, at a cost of 3.5 million euros. The Ministry is in the process of negotiating the expropriation of properties or the movement of users of two professional premises in order to proceed with the project.
-Makarios Avenue in Ipsonas (phase B) at a cost of 1.5 million euros.
-Sflaggiotissis Avenue in Agios Athanasios.
-Improvement of connecting road of Limassol - Parekklisia at a cost of 8.3 million euros.
2023
-Improvement of Evagora Lanitis Avenue and construction of a rectangular water drain at a cost of 8 million euros.
-Improvement of Agia Phylaxis Avenue (phase B) construction of a roundabout in Cafe Paris and reconstruction of Makarios Avenue from the lights of Polemidion to the lights of Ariel at a cost of 4 million euros.
2024
Improvement of the connecting road of Pyrgos with the road to Parekklisia at a cost of 3.5 million euros
