Just as in previous years, the Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has expressed its support for the work of Limassol-based charitable organizations. Representatives of nine Limassol charities were invited to the first Board meeting of the Chamber for the New Year, where they received the LCCI’s yearly donations.

Addressing the representatives of the charities, LCCI President Costas Galatariotis hailed the great work carried out by organizations that are committed to the easing of human suffering and assured them that what they do cannot pass unnoticed by anybody, let alone by the Chamber and its members. LCCI donations, he pointed out, represent a symbolic contribution in recognition of what is being done, even under adverse circumstances, in support of society and especially of those in need of support.

For their part, the representatives of the charitable organizations expressed their gratitude to the Chamber, which has for many years been supportive of their work. They also referred to the activities of the bodies they represent and the problems they face in their daily operations, especially in the wake of the financial crisis, which naturally restricted their funding.
