Limassol companies are facing the future with cautious optimism, according to the preliminary findings of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry Business Barometer for Spring 2018. Based on a quite satisfactory representative sample of over 100 companies taking part in the latest version of the Barometer, the findings show a majority of around 60% of participants stating their readiness for fresh investments and for opening up new employment opportunities, while a similar say they are satisfied with their recent investments, as opposed to a mere 7% who say they are dissatisfied.
As for problems faced and issues of concern to the business community, companies are evidently not exactly happy with their cooperation with government departments, and the difficulties interfering with their finding skilled labour also features prominently on their agenda. Enterprises are also wary of the likely impact in the event of further banking crisis and also voice their concern about the possible ramifications of the deteriorating (at political and military level) situation in the Middle East. A complete presentation, and analysis, of the Barometer findings will soon be accessible through the Limassol Chamber website.
