The Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) is now officially a Green Office, having successfully gone through all the checks required. The relevant certificate was formally presented to the chamber by Environment Commissioner Ioanna Panagiotou during a ceremony held in Limassol. The Commissioner highlighted the environmental importance of the institution of Green Offices, with the Presidential Palace, the House of Representatives and the Press and Information joining this effort, while the Limassol Chamber is the first of its kind to opt for this route.
As far as the LCCI is concerned this move is fully compatible with the environmental sensitivities of the Chamber and its commitment to the ideas of green growth and sustainable development. The Chamber offices have long observed procedures which are fully in line with the concept of the Green Office, including measures aimed at conserving energy and water, in constantly educating the LCCI staff on relevant matters, in addition to promoting the principle of reducing the volume of garbage by separating and sending for recycling everything recyclable, including paper, glass, PMD, printer cartridges, batteries and offices appliances.
