The Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry participated in the 2nd Science Fair at The Grammar School Limassol, showcasing its continued support for innovation, sustainability, and knowledge-sharing.
During the fair, the Limassol Chamber presented the CMMI-Maritec-X EU project, an initiative we are proud to be a partner in and organized engaging educational activities for students. Among the activities at the exhibition was an educational board game, "Spin the Wheel," which featured a series of questions about marine ecosystems and pollution.
At the same time, students had the opportunity to explore underwater environments through virtual reality (VR) goggles. Additionally, online quizzes were available for students to test their knowledge and raise awareness about marine life and pollution, along with a live poll where they shared their views on plastic pollution, marine biodiversity, and climate change.
These activities allowed students to learn, ask questions, and consider future careers in marine and maritime sectors, ocean science, and sustainability. The project is funded with €30 million, consisting of €15 million from the EU and €15 million from the Republic of Cyprus, to support the development of new maritime infrastructure.
