The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Marios Hartsiotis, met with the Board of Directors of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss issues related to the Ministry's responsibilities and of interest to the business community. During the constructive meeting between the Minister, his associates and the members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, issues such as the below were analysed:
- The progress of the judicial reform and the delays in the administration of justice, which are an obstacle for the business world and investments.
- The lack of innovation and the limited use of digital systems in the judicial system.
- Measures to strengthen the institution of arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution methods.
- The establishment of a commercial court and the operation of a Maritime Court in Limassol.
- Introduce the institution of the adjudicator, with a view to faster and more efficient dispute resolution.
- Other public order issues within the competence of the Ministry.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the reform of the judicial system to enhance the business environment and promote investment in Cyprus.
