Situated in the south-eastern corner of the Mediterranean with a unique fusion of influences from the region, Cyprus has much to offer in the field of nautical tourism. Limassol Marina, a milestone project for Cyprus, has already changed the face of Limassol and has established itself as one of the most attractive and unique projects across Europe. Boasting a capacity of 650 berths, able to accommodate yachts between 8m and 115m, Limassol Marina is the first superyacht marina in Cyprus. It combines luxury apartments and exclusive villas with private berths or direct access to the beach.
The already existing St Raphael
Marina, located
at the Eastern edge of Limassol on the south coast of the island, has long been
a recognised landmark in the town’s recent history. The marina is located close
to the major intercity highway network, linking St Raphael Marina to both
Larnaca and Paphos international airports. St Raphael Marina is the base of the
well-established St Raphael Yacht Club, which is extremely active in organising
offshore sailing yacht races, flotillas, seminars and social events.
In addition to this hugely valuable infrastructure, annual events like the Limassol Boat Show add value to efforts being made for the enhancement of nautical tourism and are supported by the official tourism authority of the region, the Limassol Tourism Board. This year, following the success of last year’s event, Limassol Marina hosted the Limassol Boat Show 2016 in association with Dacor Advertising, 6-8 May. The annual gathering of industry professionals and prospective buyers offered thousands of visitors the opportunity to view products and services in a unique setting, including a wide selection of yachts, fishing boats, fishing equipment, water sports accessories, boating and fishing services and much more.
The event also included seminars, exhibitions, presentations of new products, activities on the water and demonstrations that not only educated but provided excitement and entertainment to those attending. The Limassol Tourism Board encourages the organization of such events, as well as their expansion into international happenings, as part of the efforts to put Limassol on the yachting map in the Eastern Mediterranean.
