The work of the Post-Secondary Institutes of Vocational Education and Training (MIEEK) was presented during an event held recently at the initiative of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The purpose of the event, which took place in the new building of MIEEK, the Absolute Institute of Technical Education, in Germasogia, was to present the Institutes to the business society. MIEEK provide quality vocational education that produces graduates ready for immediate employment in enterprises. Attendance at MIEEK is free of charge and includes technological and laboratory courses, as well as practical training in companies.
During the event, the curricula were presented by the MIEEK Limassol District Director Costas Schinis. The website of the Institutes was also presented, which is essentially a communication tool between students and employers.
The event was addressed by LCCI President Andreas Tsouloftas and the Director of Secondary Technical Vocational Education and Training at the Ministry of Education Elias Markatzis. Members of the LCCI were present, who were given a tour of the facilities of the Absolute Institute of Technical Education, the new laboratories, and the modern teaching spaces.
Within the framework of the event, the LCCI honoured Costas Schinis, who is retiring soon, for his many years of excellent cooperation with the Chamber and, above all, for his valuable contribution in the field of quality technical education.
