There are high expectations for the village of Platres to find their lost glamour again, and this is being wheeled with new investments. A pilot project by the Troodos Network for Platres, created the new interest and today there are new investments starting from the hotels of the center of Platres:
- Pendeli Hotel
- Petit Palais Hotel
- Splendid Hotel
- Mount Royal
Also with new owners and combined with renovations are the hotels:
- Forest Park Hotel
- New Helvetia Hotel
The investment project, and the creation of the investment platform for Troodos, in parallel with the SOCIALLINNO programme of Social Innovation from the RESTART package of the Research and Innovation Foundation coordinated by the Troodos Network, aims to support the new era of investment in Troodos. The aim of the Program is the Tourist Development of Mountain Resorts through attracting investors. The coordinator of the program is by the Troodos Network and Partners of the Program are Blupath Ltd (Development Experts) and The Experts Alliance- Business Consultants. Other partners are the Communities, Platres, Pedoulas, Kakopetria, Kyperoundas and the Office of the Commissioner for the Development of Mountainous Communities.
The Actions of the Program will be the recording and analysis of investment opportunities for the three Communities, which will be done by the organization, The Experts Alliance-Business Consultants (Investment Experts), the creation of the Online platform that will contains information for potential investors and will be done by Blupath Ltd (Development Experts), and finally the public awareness and dissemination, by the Troodos Network which is also the coordinator of the program. The vision of the partners is to contribute positively to the promotion of all investment opportunities in Troodos, starting with the three communities and through their knowledge, experience and connections with other organizations in Cyprus and abroad , support the economic development of the mountain areas, which have untapped investment opportunities.
