The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) are proud to be part of an exciting initiative under the European project CMMI – MaRITeC-X, to advance the circular economy in Cyprus.
The aim is to explore the potential of recycled seashells to develop sustainable solutions that will benefit the marine environment. Recycling seashells within a circular economy framework transforms marine waste into valuable resources, reducing environmental impact while promoting sustainability. By integrating seashell waste into circular economy principles, industries can minimize their footprint while creating valuable secondary products.
Puesta Oyster Bar and Grill in Limassol made a meaningful contribution to this effort by supplying the seashells used in the initiative. The action aims to strengthen marine and maritime sectors, the circular economy and sustainable practices.
The CMMI – MaRITeC-X project is funded with €30 million, consisting of €15 million from the EU and €15 million from the Republic of Cyprus, to support the development of new maritime infrastructure.
