The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute at the international defence and security exhibition DEFEA 2025

The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) participated in the 3rd edition of the international defence and security exhibition DEFEA – Defence Exhibition Athens, which is being held at the ‘Metropolitan Expo’ exhibition center, located at Athens International Airport ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’.

The DEFEA 2025 International Exhibition for Defence, Security, and Technology hosted 436 exhibitors from 37 countries, 18 national pavilions, and 98 official delegations from 45 countries, confirming its place on the global stage as a strategic reference point for the defence industry.

At this internationally significant exhibition, cutting-edge defence equipment and cybersecurity systems are on display, where companies from around the world are presenting land, sea, air, and homeland security defence systems. The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute is participating in DEFEA 2025 with its own booth (Hall 2, Stand F40), where researchers and experts from the Institute’s Marine Robotics Innovation Centre presented autonomous maritime systems and advanced smart technologies, such as the design and development of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), which enhance maritime defence and security capabilities, while also reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to strengthening Europe’s defence and security infrastructure.
