A.Armeftis Co was founded in 1974 in Cyprus and today it is one of the largest units for the processing of natural sesame and the production of tahini and halva. It has been a member of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry for more than 10 years. The founder was Matthew Armeftis who, using traditional stone mills, processed sesame with salt for the production of tahini.
Also the preparation of halva was traditionally made by kneading in the hand. Matthew was by his son Andreas (Rikkos) and then his grandson, also called Matthew ('Athos'). Today, a large manufacturing plant with the latest European-line machinery in the field of sesame processing and tahini and halva production is based in Limassol’s 3rd Industrial Area at Agios Silas. The plant produces these traditional products in high quality, that is to say with full implementation food safety systems and regulations, according to European standards.
