The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organized the 6th and final Innovation Platform Info Day, as part of the InnoPlatform European project. The project is part of the Interreg BalkanMed transnational cooperation funding tool, which has Entrepreneurship and Innovation as its priority pillar. In his presentation, Chamber Director Christos Anastasiades referred to the objectives of the program, which are to strengthen the competitiveness of the economic environment of the Balkans and Cyprus, promote business innovation, encourage regional development as well as extroversion in business cooperation. The Chamber Directror presented the main activities implemented and aimed at creating a modern service to be provided by the Chamber to the benefit of its members.
The main actions and deliverables of the project were:
1. Preparation and implementation of studies at National and Regional level for the purpose of recording the business environment and relevant macroeconomic factors.
2. Creation of the InnoScorecard online tool, an interactive mechanism for monitoring and benchmarking innovation at national and regional level.
3. The development of the InnoRegion web-based innovation service for news and events on a pan-European level.
4. Creation of an online tool InnoScorecard, an interactive mechanism for monitoring and benchmarking innovation at national and regional level.
5. Creating 5 web tools (InnoModel, InnoStrategy, InnoPartner, InnoFinance, InnoProject) for skill development.
6. Establishment and operation of 5 interconnected Centers of Excellence (1 in each partner country) to foster international cooperation and transfer of know-how.
The above activities already have already benefitted three startups that have used InnoPlatform's toolkit to better design and implement their idea.
