The Limassol Chamber of Industry Museum ‘Kyriakos Hamboullas’ has undergone an upgrade, offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about its individual exhibits and the industrial history of Limassol. The Museum’s varied and interesting exhibits illustrate the growth of the industrial sector in Limassol in the 20th century, with a selection of rich photographic material that complements this tour into the past.
Specific information about the use, the features and the chronology of each of the items exhibited at the Museum can be viewed on a large screen, with a presentation of each of the exhibits separately, accompanied by an explanation of their link to the city’s history. The Museum, which was inaugurated in May 2017, had been the vision of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
It began its implementation on the ground floor of the LCCI building in 2004, and was completed in 2016. By offering this particular museum space to their city, the Chamber aims to help visitors, and mainly students and younger generations, to understand the evolution that has taken place in Limassol.
The exhibits have been donated by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus – Limassol, the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority – Limassol, the Limassol Water Board, the Limassol Municipality, Lellos Bookbinding LTD., Omicro Shirts Industry LTD., The Cyprus Cement Public Company LTD, Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company LTD., Provita LTD., Coca – Cola Cyprus, Remedica LTD., KEO plc, Lanitis Farm LTD., Nemitsas LTD., ETKO LTD., Groexport LTD., ΚΕΑΝ LTD., Μedochemie LTD. and Haffipavlou Christ. & Sons LTD.
