Limassol Chamber hosts Environmental Event

"Zero Waste to Landfill" is the title of an event that the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host at its premises next Tuesday, October 16.

The event, which is organized in collaboration with the Environment Commissioner's Office, aims at presenting the key aspects of the cyclical economy, which involves optimizing the use of existing resources and eliminating, as much as possible, the production of waste. This part will be presented by Dr. A. Zorpas, Lecturer at the Open University of Cyprus.

Apart from the fact that the whole idea of the cyclical economy is in line with the objective of preserving the natural environment and improving the quality of life, it is also an emerging obligation vis-à-vis the European Union, for which Zero Waste to Landfill is an objective to be fully attained by the year 2030.

To achieve this objective, very important -- and instructive-- are the good practices that are already being followed successfully by some organizations, such as CYTA. CYTA's experiences will be presented by its head of the Department of Corporate Social Responsibility Th. Makrygiannis.

For more information and participation in the event,  which will be conducted in the Greek language, interested parties are kindly requested to contact the Chamber offices at 25855000.
