The Limassol-based Russian Desk has completed in 2021, five years of existence – and support to the Cyprus-based Russian business community. This is service set up by the Cyprus Russian Business Association (CYRUBA) intended to operate as an info and support centre for Russian and Russian-speaking entrepreneurs. CYRUBA itself was established in 1996 under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Russian Embassy in Nicosia.
Over these five years, the Russian Desk has held many face-to-face meetings with representatives of the Russian-speaking business community, both collectively and on an individual basis, addressing queries and streamlining answers to questions and problems. It has also operated as a liaison office, bringing together Cypriot and other Cyprus-based entrepreneurs with Russian counterparts. It has, moreover, been active in organizing events aiming to highlight Russian entrepreneurship in different walks of Cypriot society and life. Indeed, a case in point is the upcoming, later this month, Red Diamond – Cyprus Russian Business Woman of the Year, an event intended to recognize, honour and celebrate Russian female entrepreneurship on the island.
As the Officer in charge of the Russian Desk, which is based at the Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry, I can assure you that we are here to assist and support Russian entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, our work too has been inevitably affected by the restrictions imposed in the wake of the pandemic. But once we are past the current crisis, we are going to be visibly a lot more active. The Russian Desk is always here for you!
