The green light has been given by the Environment Department for the construction of the first phase of the Germasogia-Agios Athanasios coastal pedestrian pathway. The project will cost €3,5 million and will be completed within 18 months of work getting under way in the first quarter of 2022, completing the sidewalk puzzle along the Limassol coastal front. The project includes the creation of a 2 km long pedestrian pathway and a 2,3 km long bicycle lane, from the end of Akti Olympion to the Miramare Hotel. These are the only coastal fronts that do not yet have an organized public coastal sidewalk between completed sections of sidewalks, in between Limassol and Agios Tychonas, although from time to time some partial pedestrian paths have been constructed, but without being connected to each other. The project includes public toilets-changing rooms, benches and lighting, while the importance of Dasoudi as a green area, will be highlighted with signs, landmarks, entrance gates, historical and photographic material, etc.

The pathway will start within the boundaries of Limassol Municipality and will be the continuation of the existing coastal pedestrian pathway of the Akti Olympion. It will cross over the Vathkias river, where a bridge will be constructed, about 24 meters long, continuing east within the boundaries of Agios Athanasios Municipality, in front of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It will then enter the municipal boundaries of Germasogia Municipality, passing in front of the Limassol and Famagusta Nautical Clubs and then will enter Dasoudi, where the existing pedestrian pathway will be reconstructed and reach the Amathos river. A second dual-use bridge (for bicycles and pedestrians) will be built there, about 20 meters long, to be connected in the future with the sidewalk that will be built in Phase B '. In Dasoudi, a bicycle path will be built along the northern side of the forest, which will also reach the river Amathos. With the completion of the second phase of the sidewalk in the future, the network of coastal sidewalks of Limassol in a total length of 13 km will be completed, starting from Limassol Municipality of Limassol and going all the way to beyond Agios Tychonas.
