Impressed by the work and dedication shown by the National Committees that make up the Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), says the new president of the Organization, Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou.
Mrs Theodosiou is the managing director of Tototheo Maritime and has served the Board of Directors of WISTA International as a secretary for the past two years. At the same time, she is the President of WISTA Cyprus and a member of the BoD of the Cyprus Maritime Chamber.
When asked about both of her jobs and their responsibilities, she emphasizes that she has been President for the last two months, which requires hard work and dedication. "I have visited many WISTA national associations and I am really impressed with the work and commitment they show and I think this is a really exciting time for the organization," she says.
The WISTA national ‘bodies’ that make up the international ‘body’ are growing, and there has been interest in creating such associations from countries that have not had them. "With all this, and with WISTA playing an increasingly important role in the industry, we are looking at our internal structure to see which areas may need support for these developments," says Mrs. Theodosiou.
She also points out that this position is valued, especially at a time of significant developments in the shipping industry. "WISTA has the opportunity to become a guide for excellence in the shipping industry, as our members are extremely talented and dedicated senior professionals in many industry sectors," she adds.
New solutions and destinations by Tototheo
Regarding the presence in Cyprus of Tototheo Maritime where she is holding the position of the managing director, she states that "Tototheo is not only a leading provider of services in Cyprus but globally", expressing its pride in the Cypriot roots of the group.
"We are proud of our legacy and have respect towards the name of the Cypriot company, as well as in the international shipping industry," says Theodosiou. "We are proud Cyprus ambassadors in our industry and around the world, with offices in Greece, Dubai and Singapore, and we have plans for additional destinations."
Simultaneously, Tototheo is developing new services and solutions for the shipping industry, which is gradually using more digital solutions and higher level of connectivity. "These are solutions for our existing customers and partners as well as for the ports through our new MarineFields," says the CEO of Tototheo Maritime.
