The Limassol Boat Show 2017 ended on Sunday, 7 May, with record numbers of attendance and sales. Feedback from participants and visitors indicates that results have surpassed all expectations, paving the way for an even more successful show next year. According to the organisers, more than 20,000 people from various countries visited the show over three days. A range of business ventures and collaborations, as well as hundreds of transactions, were noted by the 100 exhibitors who participated in the Boat Show.
Aristos Aristidou, the organising company’s Director, expressed his delight with the results: “We are so pleased to have brought the largest Boat Show ever organised in Cyprus to fruition. The show ran smoothly and the majority of exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the event in terms of its organisation, promotion, turnout and productivity. We have received a large number of applications from companies in Cyprus and abroad for participation in the next Limassol Boat Show and we have already started discussing logistics for next year. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Limassol Marina for the seamless collaboration in the co-organisation of the event”.
Among the visitors, prominent figures at the event included President Nicos Anastasiades, who congratulated the organizers and admitted, “I really wasn’t expecting to witness an event of this scale. It is very impressive”.
Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides also shared his enthusiasm for the show during the opening ceremony, commenting on its evolution: “It is a success story. The organisers’ vision 10 years ago has become reality. This exhibition is a jewel for Limassol Marina, the city of Limassol and Cyprus. I am positive that it will continue to grow with success. Our city has so much to benefit from this event”.
The CEO of Limassol Marina, Andreas Christodoulides, noted: “We are incredibly proud to be hosting and co-organising such a successful event. The turnout, the quality of the exhibitors and the interest expressed throughout the past weekend prove how rapidly the Limassol Boat Show is growing. Our aim is for this annual event to evolve into an international boat show in the coming years. The location lends itself beautifully to this platform and we are confident that Limassol will continue to attract a broad spectrum of prospective customers for the industry as a whole. May is the beginning of our high season and an ideal time to be hosting this event.”
The representatives of the largest and most established shipyards attending the show, along with their local distributors, also expressed their satisfaction with the event.
According to the Sales Manager and co-owner of the London-based Sunseeker Group, Christopher Head, “It was a really wonderful show. I was very impressed by the magnitude and the organisation of this event. Very important clients have visited our stand and I firmly believe that Cyprus has all the qualifications for a successful future in the yachting sector especially now with the opening of new marinas”.
Marios Iordanous, General Manager of Blue Point Yachting, the agency of the highly sought-after and popular Azimuth Yachts, reflected positively on the show: “This Boat Show was clearly an improvement on last year’s, with a remarkable interest from visitors. We also noticed an increase in the number of visitors from other countries, which is extremely encouraging”.
As the Director of Princess Yacht Cyprus Ltd, Michael Petrakis, reaffirmed, “We are very proud that our company contributed to upgrading the Limassol Boat Show and we hope that with our ongoing efforts we will have an advanced event, soon to be included on the map of International Boat Shows”.
This air of anticipation and momentum has raised the bar for the next show, due to be held on 4-6 May, 2018. Planning is already underway with the promise of an even more impressive and successful Limassol Boat Show.
