Eleven years after the start of the first
construction work, the last piece in the Limassol marina puzzle has been
placed. The delivery of the apartments of the Castle Residences complex on the
"island" marked the completion of the project, making it the first
superyacht marina on the island, as one of the most successful development
projects ever implemented in Cyprus.
For the contributors of the great work,
pride is the word that represents what they feel. Speaking in "Entrepreneurial
Limassol", the General Manager of the marina Nikiforos Pampakas, stressed
that the grandiose work is proof that when there is vision, an appetite for
hard work and strategic planning, even the most difficult goals can be
achieved. A 40-year vision, he added, came true.
The marina, an undeniably emblematic
project for Limassol, has played a decisive role in the evolution of the city,
while improving the image of the island abroad. In addition to upgrading the
wider region, strengthening domestic businesses and creating new jobs, the
marina, indicated by Nikiforos Pampakas, has placed Cyprus on the world
maritime map, contributing significantly to the upgrading of tourism.
The figures are indicative of the success
of the whole project. Property sales have surpassed €500 million, with buyers
coming from 50 different nationalities. More than 7,000 yacht arrivals have
occurred since the first day of operation of the marina, which welcomed more
than 275 superyachts. More than 4,000 people visit its restaurants and shops
every day on average.
With the percentage of sales for the 285
residential units exceeding 90%, Limassol's cosmopolitan marina has established
itself as one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean. Now, as
Nikiforos Pampakas mentioned, the marina will focus on enriching the services
provided to the boats, while explaining that the construction of more marinas
in Cyprus will not work competitively but supportively for the Limassol marina.
