Sigh of relief for 3rd Limassol Industrial area - regular entry point 20 years after its operation

The construction of the Ypsonas northern bypass of Ypsonas – with direct access to the 3rd industrial area, will be a breather for industrial units operating there. This is a road that is expected to solve serious problems, dating from the start of operation of the industrial area, since, up until now, the passage of vehicles and trucks is only possible through the residential area of Agios Silas. The master plan of the project was recently approved by the Central Traffic Agency and construction plans will be implemented soon, with works commencing around the end of 2021.

The cost will amount to 1,5 million and will be covered by the Ministry of Commerce, as Ypsonas Mayor Pantelis Georgiou has explained in "Entrepreneurial Limassol", adding that, "the access should have been built since 2020, when factories started operating in the area". At the same time, the green light has been given to start the design for a second entrance, from the side of Vati.

Access roads to the Limassol stadium
After the inclusion of the relevant fund in the state budget, the construction of the road network that will serve the new stadium of Limassol in Kolossi will begin earlier than expected, with work commencing in the first half of 2021. Limassol Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Thrasos Afamis told in "Entrepreneurial  Limassol",  that bids will be announced by the end of the year, ‘’so that the project is ready by the middle of 2022, at the same time as the stadium ".

The cost of the project is estimated at 7.5 million euro. The project includes the construction of two new exits from the highway to the stadium (North Epirus Street and Spyros Kyprianou Avenue in Kolossi, adjacent to the stadium). At the same time, two new entrances to the highway will be constructed from Tassos Isaak and Spyros Kyprianou avenues, on the south side of the stadium. In addition, Spyros Kyprianou and Tasos Isaak avenues will be upgraded, with the construction of three new roundabouts, which will shoulder the traffic burden from the movement of hundreds of additional vehicles in the area.
