Limassol Chamber - French Embassy Cooperation

The new French Ambassador to Cyprus Isabelle Dumont paid a visit to the offices of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI. Ms Dumont, accompanied, by a number of embassy staff, had a meeting with members of the LCCI Board headed by President Costas Galatariotis. The Chamber President presented the French diplomat and her associates the specific economic characteristics of Limassol and the two sides discussed various issues of common interest, with emphasis on the common objective of further developing bilateral economic relations, both at the transnational level and at the level of business-to-business relations between French and Limassol companies. 

Issues discussed included the possibilities of collaboration in the highly important field of research and innovation, where France has shown significant achievements, including in the fields of the environment, renewables and green development in general. There was also an exchange of views on the prospects of strengthening bilateral relations in the tourism sector, with both sides highlighting the essential prerequisite for a direct air link between Cyprus and France, which is hoped to become possible in the near future. Aside from President Galatariotis, also attending the meeting on behalf of the LCCI were Vice Presidents Andreas Tsouloftas, Charalambos, Pattihis, Liakos Theodorou and Anthi as well as the Honorary Secretary Kikoula Cotsapas.
