The meeting was held at the Shipping Chamber’s offices with the participation of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. This provided a welcome opportunity to engage a constructive dialogue, reflecting on issues in the field of Cyprus’ Shipping. The Deputy Minister was updated by the Board of Directors of the Chamber with regard to the current shipping policy issues and was presented with suggestions regarding the efficient operation of the Deputy Ministry as well as for the further promotion and improvement of Cyprus Shipping.

In addition, initial objectives were set with the overall aim of an effective transition of Cyprus Shipping to a new era of development and progress, attracting additional quality ships to the Cypriot Register and shipping companies in Cyprus, thus having a positive impact on the further reduction of unemployment and the strengthening of other economic sectors providing services to the Shipping Industry.  Both Mrs. Pilides and the Chamber’s President, Mr. Themis Papadopoulos jointly expressed their willingness and determination for the full cooperation between the Deputy Ministry of Shipping and the Shipping Chamber in order to achieve the aforementioned objectives.
