In the framework of the European sustainable mobility programme, Civitas Destinations, the Limassol Tourism Board organized a guided hiking tour of the Artemis trail on Sunday, 28 May 2017.
The trail is located on Troodos and follows a circular route around Mount Olympus (Chionistra) at an altitude of 1,850 metres. The trail offers spectacular views in all directions. The hike was organised in collaboration with Cyprus from Air and the Troodos Sports and Fun Festival and involved more than 80 participants who had the opportunity to explore the black pine forests with rare species of flora and rock formations.
Civitas Destinations aims to promote hiking, cycling, public transport and electric vehicles as the main modes of transport for exploring small European destinations. The Limassol Tourism Board is implementing an ambitious four year plan to upgrade Limassol in the field of sustainable mobility.
