The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, as a member of the Enterprise Europe Network, in collaboration with the Department of Labour Inspection and the Limassol Chamber, organized with great success a seminar on occupational health and safety, especially addressed to small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The seminar featured a presentation of the provisions of legislation on health and safety at work in relation to risk assessment, the health and safety management system and protection and prevention measures.
In addition, through various case studies, attendees had the opportunity to see that poor workplace safety and health systems ultimately entail a financial cost for enterprises.
Specifically, it was mentioned that a good occupational safety and health system in the workplace engenders numerous benefits, including reduced healthcare costs, improved employee productivity, a reduced need for compensation and greater company eligibility for contracts in the public and private sectors.
More than 35 individuals attended the seminar, mostly managers and business owners.
